Jamie Colby joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in July 2003 and currently serves as a co-anchor of "America's News HQ." Additionally, Colby is a co-host for "FOX & Friends First." Presented weekdays at 5 AM/ET, the program is an hour-long expansion of "FOX & Friends" and is anchored by a pair of rotating hosts.
In her time at FNC, Colby has anchored coverage of the passing of Pope John Paul II and the election of Pope Benedict XVI from Rome. Notably she was in India and Sri Lanka providing extensive on-site coverage in the wake of the South-East Asia tsunami. Colby covered Martha Stewart's insider trading trial and prison release. She also reported on the Kobe Bryant case, Hurricane Charley from the National Hurricane Center in Miami and the Columbia Space Shuttle investigation from NASA Headquarters in Houston. In addition, Colby interviewed Madonna on her first children's book exclusively for FNC.
Prior to joining FOX News Channel, Colby was a correspondent for CNN and served as an anchor and reporter for CBS News. She was also an anchor for WPIX/WB-11 New York, a reporter at WNYW-TV (FOX) in New York, and a correspondent/co-anchor on FOX News' WebMD TV.
In 2002, Colby received the prestigious Edward R. Murrow National Award for coverage of Sept. 11th, the Clarion Award from the Association for Women in Communications, and was named Television Week's "Rising News Star to Watch." Colby also received the Gracie Allen Award for investigative reporting in 2000.
Aside from her journalism career, Colby is an attorney and served in private practice for 10 years. She is an attorney admitted to practice in New York, California, the District of Columbia and Florida. Colby is also a former law professor, a member of Law Review and has been a National Board member of American Women in Radio and Television for the last several years. Attending the University of Miami International School of Business at age 14, she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting as well as her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law at age 22.
