Now that the rollout for the coronavirus vaccine is underway, celebrities and other public figures are among those rolling up their sleeves for the shots.
While shots in the U.S. are initially going only to those who meet specific criteria, there are various plans throughout different countries to ensure that citizens -- particularly those at higher risk for health complications -- are safely administered the vaccine.
Among those that have received the vaccination are a few stars. Here's a look at the public figures -- from movie and TV stars to British royalty -- who have begun their vaccination process.
Britney Spears

Pop princess Britney Spears revealed that she and her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, received their coronavirus vaccines in early April.
In a brief video message shared on Instagram, she said that she "felt nothing" when she got the injection and is feeling "fine."

"Got the COVID vaccine," said the caption of her post. "Great success …. High-five !!!!!"
Jane Fonda

Hollywood legend Jane Fonda got her first vaccine shot back in January.
Alongside a photo of herself at a drive-through vaccine station, the "Grace and Frankie" star, 83, wrote on Instagram: "Got vaccinated today! Yay!"

"It doesn’t hurt," she added.
Randall Park
During an appearance on "The Talk" in January, "WandaVision" actor Randall Park explained that he had also received the vaccine -- in September 2020.
He said fellow actor Ken Jeong clued him into a vaccine trial that was looking for Asian candidates, so he chose to "donate [his] body to science."

"I figured it would be my of helping fight this thing happening throughout the world," he added, noting that until recently, he wasn't sure whether he had received the vaccine or a placebo.
Alan Alda
"M*A*S*H" star Alan Alda, 85, announced on Twitter in February that he'd received the vaccine as well.

Christie Brinkley

Supermodel Christie Brinkley revealed in early February that she'd also gotten an injection.
"A Real Shot in the Arm!" she said on Instagram alongside a video of the experience.
Jeff Goldblum

"Thor: Ragnarok" star Jeff Goldblum said on Instagram in February that he had "immense gratitude to all of the frontline healthcare workers" as he received a shot.

Bette Midler

Multihyphenate Bette Midler revealed during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that she's received both shots.

"My arm hurt a little tiny bit and was a little bit tired for a couple of days ... and I felt fine," she explained. "I'm very relieved."
Whoopi Goldberg
"The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg was vaccinated about a year after the coronavirus crisis was officially declared a pandemic -- and she shared photos from the occasion on the show.
"This is no joke and people are still dying and we're thinking about all the stuff we can do," she said. "We can go out now!"
Dolly Parton
Country music songstress Dolly Parton, 75, announced that she has received the Moderna vaccine via social media in early March.
"Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine," her tweet reads, along with an attached video of Parton talking about the vaccine.
"I'm finally going to get my vaccine, I'm so excited!" Parton exclaimed. "I've been waiting a while, I'm old enough to get it and I'm smart enough to get it."
The singer is later seen putting on a blue mask as the doctor enters the video to administer the shot. Parton then bravely takes the shot without a flinch.

In April 2020, Parton shared that she donated $1 million to research being done at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
According to the New England Journal of Medicine, Parton's donation and the work done by researchers at Vanderbilt during trial phases directly led to Moderna announcing it had produced a coronavirus vaccine assessed as nearly 95% effective.
Jonathan Van Ness

"Queer Eye" star Jonathan Van Ness, 33, announced that he received the vaccine in late February on Instagram.

The reality star, who is HIV positive, met the criteria of being able to receive the first dose and urged others to "please check your states guidelines to see if you’re eligible and get vaccinated against covid-19!"
In regard to side effects, Van Ness stated, "This was my first shot and other than minor soreness in my arm had no side effects and will get my second shot in a few weeks."
Amanda Kloots

Amanda Kloots, widow of the late Nick Cordero, announced on Instagram that she received the first dose of the vaccine in mid-February.
"I cannot tell you how emotional I was and still am right now," said Kloots, 38, on Instagram. "I had [son] Elvis beside me and Live Your Life playing in the car. THANK YOU to the National Guard that was here today volunteering since 5:30am administering the Pfizer vaccine to willing arms."
"I have been terrified since Nick has passed, as a single mother, of getting this virus and now I am one step closer to safety," Kloots continued.
Ozzy Osbourne

Heavy metal legend and former Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, 72, received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in mid-February.
Appearing on the "Loose Women" talk show alongside wife Sharon, 68, Ozzy opened up about receiving the shot and revealed how painful it was initially.
"It felt like I was being stabbed," he said laughingly. "My arm was sore yesterday, but I'm glad I got it, you know?"
"As soon as I got it, I felt relieved," he added.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

The Prince of Wales, 72, and the Duchess of Cornwall, 73, have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Clarence House confirmed to People magazine in early February.
The members of the royal family are within the age range of people who the U.K. is currently vaccinating. Citizens over the age of 80 and health workers are also in the process of getting vaccinated.
The news comes nearly a year after the Prince of Wales tested positive for the coronavirus, though he only experienced "mild symptoms."
Anthony Hopkins

The actor celebrated his 83rd birthday on Dec. 31. During the pandemic, he's been spending the pandemic entertaining his cat by playing the piano.
"Niblo is making sure I stay healthy and demands I entertain him in exchange… cats," Sir Anthony wrote on social media.
Billy Crystal

"Analyze This" actor Billy Crystal, 72, received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in late January, which he announced on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
"I got the injection and a free scarf," Crystal jokingly recalled. "I was glad to get this first step toward hugging my kids and my grandchildren again — and I do have a pre-existing, underlying condition, which is terror. So, that was good that I got that [vaccine]."
Arnold Schwarzenegger
"The Terminator" actor and former Republican governor of California announced on Twitter in January that he'd received a vaccination shot.
"Today was a good day. I have never been happier to wait in a line," Schwarzenegger wrote alongside a video on himself getting an injection. "If you’re eligible, join me and sign up to get your vaccine."

In reference to a famous line from "The Terminator," he added: "Come with me if you want to live!"
The 73-year-old actor said in a follow-up tweet that Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti checked him in at a vaccination site at Dodger Stadium, which he called "a crazy surprise."
Steve Martin
The legendary comic, 75, revealed on Twitter in January that he'd also received his vaccination, in part because of his age.
"Good news/Bad news. Good news: I just got vaccinated! Bad news: I got it because I’m 75. Ha!" he wrote. "The operation in NYC was smooth as silk (sorry about the cliché @BCDreyer!) and hosted to perfection by the US Army and National Guard. Thank you all, and thank you science."
When a fan asked Martin how he signed up for it, the "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" star said he signed up online.

"I signed up ON line through an NYC dot gov website (sorry I don’t have the exact site), and waited IN line at the Javits Center," he recalled and joked he was having no "fide resects."
Willie Nelson
The 87-year-old country star's vaccination was announced on Facebook by Family Hospital Systems.
It shared a photo of Nelson giving a thumbs up while wearing a face mask.
"Getting your COVID vaccine is Willie cool!" the organization joked in the caption. "Thank you Willie Nelson for helping Family Hospital Systems slow the spread of COVID-19."
Loretta Lynn
Another icon of the country music industry, 88-year-old Lynn announced on Instagram that she's gotten her shot as well.
The "Coal Miner's Daughter" singer shared a pair of photos: one of herself smiling and another close-up of a sticker reading "I got my COVID-19 vaccine!"
"Well, I bundled up and Peggy Jean and I rolled out of Hurricane Mills so I could get this vaccine," she said in the caption. "I’m sure glad to get it and am sure ready to put Covid in the rear view mirror! And I enjoyed the mom daughter time, too!"
A similar message made it to Twitter, featuring the photo of the sticker.

"I did it," Lynn captioned the pic. "You can, too!"
Judi Dench

Dench, 86, announced her vaccination as well.
"I have [had the coronavirus vaccine]. I had one a week ago so I think my next is something like 11 weeks' time, that's a great start!" she told BBC in January, per the Daily Mail.
She also said that she felt "joy" and "relief" at having been administered the vaccine, as she can now pick up where she left off when it comes to acting.

Tony Bennett
At 94 years old, it stands to reason that the classic crooner would receive a dose of the vaccine early in the rollout.
Bennett took to Twitter on Jan. 13 to share that he'd received an injection.
"I received the first dose of the Covid 19 vaccination this week and am doing fine and encourage you to do the same!" he said alongside a photo of himself smiling.

Martha Stewart

On Jan. 11, the home goods mogul, 79, shared a video of herself prepping to be injected with the vaccine.
"I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine pod near the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Downtown I am so proud of and grateful to the doctors, nurses and medical staff who are wading through the red tape and confusion of the distribution of these very important vaccines," she captioned the post, in part.
The star said she was "excited to have received" the vaccine, and claimed that Mount Sinai had received 10,000 applications for administration.
"Here’s to the advancement of science and a heartfelt thanks to those working on the vaccines. We are all hoping for an end to this pandemic," she concluded. "To allay your concerns that I jumped the line know that I am in the approved age group for this batch of vaccines and I waited in line with others."
Joan Collins
The 87-year-old "Dynasty" icon said on Instragram she was "delighted" to have received her first dose in January. Her post included a photo of herself with a medical professional administering the shot.
She later spoke to "Good Morning Britain" about the procedure.
"I just really want to tell anybody who is worried about it: There is nothing to worry about," she urged. "It was the easiest thing, it was just like a little scratch and there was no pain at all. I had no after-effects and I felt absolutely fine.
In fact, Collins said that she "went home and I had a drink, even."
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip

Britain's highest royals were also able to obtain vaccines.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed in a statement Jan. 9 that the recipients included Queen Elizabeth, 94, and Prince Philip, 99.
"The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have today received Covid-19 vaccinations," the announcement states.
A royal source confirmed the vaccinations were administered "by a household doctor at Windsor Castle," where the royal pair have been living amid the global health crisis.
Queen Margrethe II

More royals were able to obtain treatment as well.
Denmark's Queen Margrethe II, 80, received her vaccination not long after the rollout began.
"Her Majesty The Queen has been vaccinated against COVID-19 today," the Amalienborg Palace announced on its website on New Year’s Day.
"The Queen will receive a follow-up vaccination in approximately three weeks," the statement revealed.

Tyler Perry
Actor, writer, producer and director Tyler Perry is among those to have received the treatment and will discuss his vaccination experience on the BET program, "Covid-19 Vaccine and the Black Community: A Tyler Perry Special."
"I was skeptical because if you look at our history in this country with the Tuskegee experiment, Henriette Lacks, things like that, it raises flags for us as African-American people," Perry said on "CBS This Morning."
Grady Health System suggested that administering the vaccine to the 51-year-old star would help send a message of safety to the public, and Perry ultimately agreed.
"I’m not taking this vaccine because I want you to take it, I want to give you the information so you make your own choices," he added. "I think that’s what it’s about, education and information."

Sean Penn
Movie star and humanitarian Sean Penn has also received the treatment.
The 60-year-old actor star shared a photo of himself getting vaccinated on Twitter.
"I’m a lucky man. Lucky to work alongside the @LAFD & our great frontline @CoreResponse staff, our partners at Carbon Health, USC, & Curative Lab," he wrote in the post. "We test & vaccinate thousands per day. We need your support to get more people lucky. Text CORE to 707070 to donate."
Tom Jones

"It's Not Unusual" crooner Tom Jones revealed that he's been injected during an appearance on the 'Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny' show, per Daily Mail.
"I've had my jab already," he said. "That's one good thing about being 80, you're first in line for the jab."
The shot didn't seem to bother him at all.
"It was fine, it was like getting the flu jab," said the singer.
Joel Grey

Broadway icon Joel Grey received a shot in January.
The 88-year-old star said that he "got the vaccine because I want to be safe. We've lost so many people to COVID. I've lost a few friends. It's heartbreaking. Frightening. Like boxing with the enemy. What's been helping me is a solid belief that there is an end. I want to live. I love life," according to People.
Patrick Stewart
Another British icon has been vaccinated.
Patrick Stewart, 80, announced on Instagram in January that he'd received an injection by sharing a video from the drive-through site.
"How do we say thank you to the health workers and scientists for their sacrifice and service? Receive the vaccine as soon as one can to lessen their load and keep wearing a mask to protect fellow citizens," he captioned the post. "In my 80th year, I am grateful and hopeful for better days ahead."
Kate Mulgrew
"Orange Is the New Black" star Kate Mulgrew also shared online that she'd been vaccinated.
"Got my Covid-19 vaccine in the wee hours of Monday morning! Consider this an order from your Captain - continue to mask up & register to receive your vaccine ASAP," she wrote alongside a photo of herself showing off the bandage on her arm. "Here in the US, check the website for your individual state of residence (NY for me!) for when you can sign up."
The 65-year-old star added in a follow-up tweet: "We will beat this, but only if we all work together. Stay safe, my friends, and trust in science!"
Samuel L. Jackson

Film icon Samuel L. Jackson revealed that he'd also received a dose in January.
"At The Forum getting that 1st jab!!" the 72-year-old captioned a post on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself waiting in a parking lot of the Inglewood, Calif., arena to receive the treatment.
He added: "gogitchyoursigotmine."
Ian McKellen
The famed "Lord of the Rings" star, 81, received his vaccination in December.
"I really hope that, as more people get vaccinated, we will move further along the path back to a more normal way of life," he said, per a tweet from NHS England and NHS Improvement.
The message contained images of McKellen with a sleeve rolled up speaking with a medical professional and giving a thumbs up.
"It’s a very special day, I feel euphoric. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I feel very lucky to have had the vaccine," read another tweet from the NHS quoting McKellen.
Patrick Mower
English actor Patrick Mower, 82, is also one step closer to being safe from the virus.
"Getting my COVID vaccination was incredibly simple & painless," he said in a tweet shared by Lincolnshire NHS. "I feel incredibly lucky to have had it & would like to thank all the wonderful NHS staff for making it happen."
The tweet was published on Dec. 16.
Lionel Blair

British actor and choreographer Lionel Blair announced on "Good Morning Britain" that he'd been injected as well.
"I'm feeling fine. It was the best birthday present I could have because I was 92 on December 12 and on that day they said I can have my first one, which I did, my first appointment," he told the outlet, according to Daily Mail.
During the television appearance earlier this month, the star added: "Yesterday I had my second."
