Presidential rivals Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are expected to put their campaigns on pause as they join others in commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks

Trump and Clinton are set to attend the official commemoration Sunday in New York at the World Trade Center site.

On Saturday, Trump condemned Clinton's remark that half of his supporters could be put in a "basket of deplorables" and dismissed her admission that she was wrong, saying she had committed "the worst mistake of the political season."

Clinton has backed off her suggestion that half of Trump supporters are racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic and Islamaphobic, saying she was wrong to say "half." She did say that Trump himself has built a campaign largely on prejudice and paranoia.
