Washington, DC – Second-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov downed fourth-seeded German Tommy Haas in the final of the $1 million Citi Open tennis event on Sunday.
Dolgopolov rallied for a 7-6 (9-7), 4-6, 6-1 win over the 34-year-old Haas on the hardcourts of the H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center.
Dolgopolov won 4-of-8 break points.
The 23-year-old took home his second ATP World Tour title following last year's victory in Umag. Dolgopolov collected $252,600.
"I'm really happy with myself that I stayed concentrated and was in the match in all the three sets. I���m just happy to win," Dolgopolov said.
Haas appeared in his third final in the past five tournaments.
