Here is what to know about the NBA title oddsboard:
The League Leaders: The Thunder's 51-15 record is the best in the league. They are second in the NBA in defense, allowing 107.9 points per game, while scoring 118.8 per game, third in the league. San Antonio has the second-best record in the league, and the fourth-best odds to win it all. It is fourth in point differential (7.1), and like OKC, winning with defense, allowing 111.6 points per game (seventh).
Here Comes Boston: Jayson Tatum has been back for three games and Boston is 2-1, suffering an understandable loss at San Antonio on Tuesday night. Just last week, the Celtics were at +900 to win the title (third) and have now moved to +550 (second). Consider this: Boston had the second-best record in the East and fourth-best record overall without Tatum. It is the best defensive team in the NBA, allowing 107.2 points per game, and its other star, Jaylen Brown, is averaging 28.3 points per game. Furthermore, although the Celtics are 1-3 against the best team in the East in Detroit, those three losses have come by a combined 14 points. Tatum has averaged at least 26 points per game in each of the past five seasons, and is scoring 19.7 per game since his return.
