Jada Pinkett Smith got plenty of attention for deciding to boycott the Oscars for the lack of diversity among its nominees. During his opening monologue at the 88th Annual Academy Awards, Chris Rock fired back at Pinkett Smith for her highly publicized decision.

“Jada got mad, Jada said she’s not coming,” Rock said. “Isn’t she on a TV show? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited.”

The crowd roared at Rock’s joke and he continued.

“I get it. You get mad,” he said. “She said ‘it was not fair that Will was this good and did not get nominated.’ It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for ‘Wild Wild West.’”

Pinkett Smith declared she would not be watching the Oscars so it’s likely word of Rock’s jokes will take some time to get to the actress.
