Yemeni Man to Plead Guilty in Piracy Case

NORFOLK, Va. – A Yemeni man will plead guilty to piracy for his role in the hijacking of a yacht that left four Americans dead.

Mounir Ali's attorney, Jim Theuer, says Ali has a plea agreement hearing scheduled in federal court on Monday.

He will be the 11th man to plead guilty for the February hijacking of the yacht Quest.

The owners of the Quest, Jean and Scott Adam of Marina del Rey, Calif., along with friends Bob Riggle and Phyllis Macay of Seattle, were shot to death after being taken hostage several hundred miles south of Oman.

Ali faces life in prison at sentencing, although that may be reduced as part of a plea agreement. The others charged in the case are three suspected shooters and a negotiator.
