SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Police are looking into the possibility that a love triangle might have motivated a 73-year-old man to fatally shoot a 62-year-old man outside the headquarters of the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District.
Before turning the gun on himself, police say, the suspected shooter pursued a woman from the parking lot into the building's lobby during the Tuesday night shooting, firing multiple shots but failing to hit her.
Police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said Wednesday that detectives are looking into the possibility of romantic relationships between those involved.
The Sacramento County coroner identified the victim as Jerome Votaw of Sacramento and the suspected gunman as Robert Gully of West Sacramento.
They were part of a group of model airplane enthusiasts using the district offices for a meeting.
