Four people are dead and another person is hurt after a shooting on a bridge in eastern Wisconsin that a police chief says appears to be a "random act."

Officer Aaron Zemlock, a spokesman with the Menasha Police Department, tells Post-Crescent Media (http://post.cr/1GUokep ) that the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the west end of the Fox Cities Trestle Trail bridge.

Menasha Police Chief Tim Styka said late Sunday night that the shooter was among those who died. The man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Styka said the lone surviving victim was undergoing surgery. None of the victims was immediately identified.

According to Styka, authorities think the shooting was a "random act" and do not believe there is any other threat to the community. He said no responding officers fired their weapons.
