MEXICO CITY — The Mexican Navy says it has captured the leader of a cell of the Zetas drug gang who was allegedly involved in the recent killings of 145 people found buried in mass graves near the U.S. border.

The navy statement says Martin Omar Estrada Luna, alias "El Kilo," is also believed to be involved in the massacre of 72 Central and South American migrants last August in the same township of San Fernando in Tamaulipas state last August.

The statement issued Saturday had no more details.

The Mexican government last week offered a a 15 million-peso ($1.27 million) reward for information leading to his capture.
