State police and SWAT teams rushed to a home in Wilmington, Mass., Wednesday, searching for a man wanted for shooting into his own home after alarmed neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Everyone in the house escaped without injury, according to state police spokesman Dave Procopio, but police are now searching for the suspect.

"The suspect was at large, but it is unknown if he was in the house or nearby woods," said Procopio. "The suspect is believed to be armed with familiarity with weapons."

Neighbors said the usually quiet neighborhood erupted in gunfire at about 7:30 a.m.

"They took people out of their houses, and I’ve been sitting in the rain waiting to hear when can I get back into my home," said neighbor Chuck Shay.
