The Minnesota Vikings signed term contract extension on Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported the pact is for five years and worth $41 million with $20 million guaranteed.

The 28-year-old had previously inked a one-year tender offer back in March which could have netted him $10 million in 2011 -- the average salary of the top five players at the position last season.

"Chad's best football is ahead of him. He has been a special person and player and is an example of the way we want to build the franchise," said Vikings owner Zygi Wilf. "He has overcome adversity and continued to fight to be his best. Chad is a good role model for younger players and represents the Vikings with class. Getting this extension done is a great way to get the 2011 season underway."

The Iowa product, whom the Vikings franchised on February 21, led the team in tackles for the third straight season, registering 149 stops in 2010. He also added one sack and a force fumble.

Greenway hasn't sat out a game since a knee injury forced him to miss his entire rookie season in 2006.

In 64 career games, Greenway has notched 464 tackles, 6 1/2 sacks and five interceptions.
