Augusta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Marc Leishman announced on Wednesday morning that he has withdrawn from the Masters due to personal reasons.

Leishman's wife was hospitalized last week due to pneumonia. According to several published reports, she was placed in a medically induced coma, but is out of the coma and recovering.

The Australian's wife, Audrey, has made it through what he described as a "life-threatening medical emergency." He withdrew to remain with her and their children.

Leishman was set to make his fourth start at the Masters. He missed the cut in 2010 and 2014. He opened with a 66 and was the first-round leader in 2013, then played the final three rounds in 1-over par and to end in a tie for fourth.

The 2012 Travelers Championship winner will not be replaced in the field.
