Buenos Aires, Argentina (SportsNetwork.com) - The top two seeds in the Copa Claro tennis event will face each other in Sunday's final, as David Ferrer and Fabio Fognini both got by their semifinal opponents on Saturday.

Ferrer, the two-time defending champion and top seed, had a much easier time in his match, as the Spaniard upended countrymate Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-2 on the red clay at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.

Almagro, who titled in Buenos Aires in 2011, has dropped all 15 of his career meetings against Ferrer, including one in the 2012 final here.

Fognini will play in his fifth straight clay-court final, as the second-seeded Italian rallied to upended third-seed Tommy Robredo 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Robredo had a chance to serve out the match in the second set, but Fognini won at deuce to make it 5-5, took the next two games to even things and finished off the Spaniard in the third set. The match lasted just under two hours.

Fognini improved to 23-1 on clay since last year's French Open, but, much like Almagro, has never beaten Ferrer (0-6).
