The Hangover walked away with a leading six nominations for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, the network announced Wednesday.

The film's nods included best movie, best comedic performance for Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis and best villain for Ken Jeong.

Following close behind with five nominations each were Twilight: New Moon and Avatar. New Moon picked up nominations for best movie, best female performance for Kristen Stewart and best male performance for both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Avatar was tapped for best movie, best female performance for Zoe Saldana and best villain for Stephen Lang, among others.

The Hangover, New Moon and Avatar will face off against Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for best movie.

Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Steve Carell will be among the celebrities handing out golden popcorn statues. Christina Aguilera will perform her new single, "Not Myself Tonight."

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Aziz Ansari, will air Sunday, June 6 at 9/8c on MTV.
