A Texas detective "skipped" out on his lunch break, opting Wednesday to play a quick game of hopscotch with a little girl.

Detective Lyle Gensler said he waved at the girl while driving by in Grand Prarie, Texas.

After she waved back, he got out of his squad car and decided to join the game.

"We can do what we want on our breaks, correct? Child's game, phooey! #hopscotch," he tweeted.

Gensler mentions on his Twitter biography that he is a former Marine, and says he tries to show "the human side of [his] profession."
