Suspect apprehended at UT Arlington after students told to shelter in place

Police at the University of Texas at Arlington said they apprehended a suspect after earlier reports indicated a gunman was spotted in the Architecture Building on campus.

No weapon was ever found, according to police, who said students could resume normal activities.

University officials said investigators conducted multiple sweeps of the Architecture Building. They said final exams will continue as planned.

The university campus is roughly 15 miles east of Fort Worth.
