A jury has convicted an Ohio man of murder in his third trial for the 2008 bathtub drowning of his wife.

The Warren County jury deliberated about 12 hours over two days before finding Ryan Widmer guilty Tuesday. It was the second time he was found guilty, but the verdict from his first trial was thrown out for juror misconduct and a second trial ended in a hung jury.

The 30-year-old Widmer was in tears as he heard the verdict. He continued to deny killing his wife, Sarah, just before the judge sentenced him to 15 years to life in prison.

For the first time, prosecutors had asked jurors to consider the lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter, which meant they agreed that he'd assaulted her and caused her death but didn't mean to kill her.
