Cleveland Parents Accused of Beating, Hog-Tying Son
CLEVELAND -- Authorities say a Cleveland woman indicted on felonious assault charges forced her 8-year-old son to stand facing a wall every day for six months and smacked the back of his head, leaving an indentation and breaking his nose.
Thirty-seven-year-old Andreia Huffman also is accused with the boy's father of hog-tying the child with duct tape and tying him to a coffee table on a nightly basis. Both Huffman and 32-year-old Jason Dunikowski face charges of kidnapping and child endangering.
The Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office said Thursday that the mother also used a wood-like paddle to hit the boy and his 17-year-old sister.
Police in April removed nine children from the couple's home after the boy's 15-year-old brother called 911.
Both parents are held on bond pending Tuesday arraignments.
