An Arizona policeman has been reassigned over allegations he knocked together the heads of two off-duty female police officers at a bar.

Steven Miller, who works for the Phoenix suburb of Mesa, is charged in Scottsdale Municipal Court with three counts of assault and two counts of disorderly conduct.

The East Valley Tribune says Miller approached two women at Flicka's Bar in Scottsdale, grabbed them by the back of the neck and knocked their heads together on Sept. 12. One of the women was his ex-girlfriend.

Police say Miller is a 15-year veteran and has been reassigned to the police department's evidence unit pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
