Stephenson draws another flopping fine

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Lance Stephenson's defense on LeBron James in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals was outstanding.

His acting? Not so much.

For the second time in the series, the NBA has fined the controversial Indiana Pacers guard for violating the league's flopping rules.

Stephenson incurred a $10,000 penalty for wildly flailing to the ground in an attempt to draw a charge from James during the fourth quarter of the Pacers' 93-90 win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday, a result that staved off elimination for Indiana and forced a Game 6.

James finished the contest with just seven points -- his fewest ever in a postseason game -- on 2-of-10 shooting while battling persistent foul trouble.

Stephenson was previously fined $5,000 by the league for a flopping violation against James in last week's Game 2.

He's now received four fines for flopping infractions since the rule was put into effect for the 2012-13 season, the most of any player over that time frame.

One of those fines came during the 2013 playoffs, with the other coming this past regular season.

Pacers center Roy Hibbert was also found guilty of a flop in Wednesday's clash, earning a $5,000 fine as a first-time offender.

Hibbert's violation occurred when guarding the Heat's Mario Chalmers with 5:18 left to play.
