San Jose, CA – The San Jose Sharks signed forward Logan year contract extension on Friday, which will keep the young 14 season.
Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
"Logan is an excellent teammate and he proved it by committing to the team- first philosophy that we have instilled here," said Sharks general manager Doug Wilson. "Last season, as a rookie, he was a catalyst for our hockey club as one of our most consistent players. Over the last two postseasons, he has been one of our most reliable players. We're excited to see him build upon his early success and continue his growth over the next three seasons."
The runner-up for the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie posted 32 goals -- 22 of those on the road -- and 56 points over 79 games in his first full NHL campaign of 2010-11. He ranked first in game-winning goals among all rookies (eight), power-play goals (10) and second in total scores.
Couture, who was named the NHL's top rookie for December, also set a first- year player record by tallying seven game-winning goals away from home.
The 22-year-old native of Ontario has totaled 37 goals and 65 points in 104 regular-season contests, adding 11 goals and 18 points in 33 playoff tilts.
