Washington DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Hampton-Howard football rivalry will take on even more significance this year.

The two HUs have moved their season-ending game up to Friday night, Sept. 18 for a meeting in the AT&T Nation's Football Classic at RFK Stadium.

Hampton and Howard will open their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schedule against each other in the "Classic."

Hampton leads its rival in the series, 47-43-1, but Howard has won last three meetings, including 30-29 on a last-minute field goal last season.

The win helped Howard to finish 5-7, including 3-5 in the MEAC, under coach Gary Harrell. Hampton was 3-9 and 2-6 in coach Connell Maynor's first season.
