Carson, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane scored two goals apiece to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 5-0 drubbing of Chivas USA in the latest installment of the SuperClasico at the StubHub Center on Sunday.
Los Angeles needed just six minutes to get on the scoreboard as Gyasi Zardes' cross to the back post was met by Donovan. The United States international drew Chivas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy off his line and cooly picked out Keane at the top of the six-yard box, allowing the Irishman to slot home into the empty net.
Donovan doubled the Galaxy's advantage in the 23rd minute when he got on the end of a beautiful ball across the six-yard box from Zardes and turned in the delivery from close range.
Zardes turned from provider to scorer three minutes later when he took Keane's deflected shot and fired a left-footed effort past Kennedy at the near post.
Donovan added a fourth in the 41st minute when latched on to a bouncing ball played by Pablo Mastroeni and chipped a cheeky effort over Kennedy and into the back of the net.
The Galaxy churned out a professional display in the second period but still managed to tack on a fifth goal when Keane collected a long ball from Laurent Courtois in the 90th minute and whipped a shot past Kennedy on the turn.
The win snaps a four-game winless run in league play for Los Angeles as the club improves to 48 points.
Chivas is winless in its last four, leaving the club at the bottom of the Western Conference with 26 points.
