Martin Demichelis scored three minutes into the second half and Eliseu added a penalty kick as Malaga downed Sevilla, 2-0, on Saturday at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in La Liga.

Demichelis opened the scoring early in the second half and, after the sending off of Federico Fazio of Sevilla in the 68th, Eliseu sealed the road win from the spot in the 69th minute.

Malaga won for the third time in its last four to solidify its grip on fourth and climb within striking distance of Real Madrid in third. Malaga climbed to within four points of Real, which plays Sunday.

Sevilla has just one win in its last eight games and is 12th.

Despite its place in the top four, Malaga won for just the third time on the road this season against three draws and two losses.

Sevilla lost for the third time at home in eight matches, as it remained stuck in the bottom half of the standings.

Getafe 1, Osasuna 1

Getafe, Spain - Diego Castro converted a penalty kick three minutes into extra time as Getafe tied Osasuna, 1-1, on Saturday at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez to run its unbeaten streak to five matches.

Osasuna had Emiliano Armenteros sent off in the 78th minute, but Kike Sola put his side in front six minutes later to position the visitors for their second away win of the season.

Castro split the points and prevented a fourth home loss in just eight matches this season. Getafe is seventh in the standings.

Osasuna has just one loss over its last five matches, but three of those games ended in draws. Osasuna is 16th.

Athletic Bilbao 1, Mallorca 0

Palma, Spain - Aritz Aduriz scored just 11 minutes into the La Liga fixture at Iberostar Stadium and the goal held as Athletic Bilbao secured its second road win this season, 1-0 over Mallorca on Saturday.

After winning just four of its first 14 fixtures, Bilbao has won its last two games to close in on a place in the top half of the standings.

Mallorca lost for the third time in its last four and for the ninth time in an abysmal 11-match winless skid. Mallorca is 18th.

Granada 0, Real Sociedad 0

Granada, Spain - Real Sociedad tied Granada, 0-0, on Saturday at Los Carmenes for its fourth road result in La Liga this season.

Sociedad extended its unbeaten streak to six games to inch up to eighth place in the standings. Granada is 17th, just clear of the bottom three on goal differential.
