Columbus, OH – David Backes scored a power-play goal in the 1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.
Former Blue Jacket Kris Russell scored the other goal for St. Louis, which improved to 7-1-2 under Ken Hitchcock. Brian Elliott continued his stellar play between the pipes, recording 23 saves to up his record this season to 10-1-0.
Curtis Sanford stopped 27 shots for the Blue Jackets, who had registered at least a point in each of their past five games (3-0-2).
