Netflix is feeling Keith Richards' influence.

The streaming service will release a documentary, "Keith Richards: Under the Influence," about the rock icon on Friday, Sept. 18 worldwide, the company announced at the Television Critics Association fall previews on Tuesday.

Academy Award-winning director Morgan Neville ("20 Feet From Stardom") created the portrait of The Rolling Stones musician that traces his earliest influences as he creates his first solo album in 23 years, "Crossed Heart," which not-so-coincidentally also drops on Sept. 18.

"If there's a Mount Rushmore of Rock 'n' Roll, Keith's face is surely on it," Neville said in a statement, which presumably does not refer to Richards' rather craggy appearance. "He has always represented the soul of rock music -- for all of the light and dark shades that implies. To my relief, Keith Richards turned out to be a real man -- full of humor, knowledge and wisdom."

"Crossed Heart" is Richards' third solo album and includes 15 tracks that encompass reggae, rock, country and blues. His first single, "Trouble," was released earlier this month.
