Theories abound after serial arsonist targets Jewish neighborhood in New York City

New York City police are hunting a serial arsonist who has been torching new homes in a Jewish enclave in Queens.

Investigators say they believe the same culprit has set seven fires in six weeks.

Police say they don't have evidence suggesting that the arsons are acts of terror or hate crimes, but the fact that most of the victims have been Bukharian Jews has the neighborhood on edge.

Some wonder whether the arsonist is targeting gaudy homes that stand out in the otherwise modest neighborhood. Others say he may be targeting Jews because of their religion. Still others are convinced he is just crazy.

Police are holding a community meeting Tuesday to solicit tips and calm fears.
