Report of gunman near University of Cincinnati campus

University of Cincinnati police are searching for a reported gunman who was spotted Wednesday afternoon on a street across from the campus.

Police told Fox News that no shots were fired and nobody has been injured. The alleged gunman was spotted near Vine Street and then took off running into a neighborhood, police added.

The school’s emergency information Twitter account posted messages saying that police were searching an area near Proctor Hall and told students to “stay out of [the] area.” It later gave an all clear, saying that buildings have been searched and the suspect is gone.

Parts of the university had been placed on lockdown, WCPO reported.
