A new memorial has been dedicated at the site of a 2009 plane crash that killed 50 people in western New York.

Relatives and friends of the victims were among those at Saturday's ceremony in Clarence, near Buffalo.

Continental Flight 3407 crashed into a house on Feb. 12, 2009. The plane was approaching Buffalo Niagara International Airport after traveling from Newark, N.J. The flight was operated by Colgan Air.

All 49 people on board and one of the home's owners, Doug Wielinski, were killed.

Wielinski's wife, Karen, says "the location of their death has been transformed into one celebrating life."

The memorial is on the site of her destroyed home. The tribute features 51 steppingstones, one for each victim and another for the unborn child of one of the passengers.
