Authorities say two people were killed and five others were wounded in shootings at a Southern California nightclub and a nearby gas station.

San Bernardino Police Lt. Rich Lawhead says gunfire erupted as up to 200 people filed out of Stinger's nightclub on the city's south side early Wednesday.

Lawhead says one person died and five people were wounded — two critically. Another person died in a second shooting minutes later at a gas station a quarter-mile away.

Investigators say up to 40 rounds were fired, and they are searching for multiple suspects.

Lawhead says Stinger's has been the scene of past gang activity and the shootings are likely gang-related.
