Vasco da Gama coach Ricardo Gomes is in serious condition after suffering a stroke during a league match with Flamengo on Sunday.

Gomes started to have trouble standing up in the dugout midway through the second half of the 0-0 draw, and he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

He is being listed in serious condition according to a statement released by the hospital, and this incident comes after he sustained a minor stroke following a match last season.

The 46-year-old has spent time in charge of Sao Paulo as well as French clubs PSG and Monaco in addition to earning 45 caps as a defender for Brazil's national team.
