Rosberg beats Vettel for Monaco GP win

Nico Rosberg from Mercedes made history in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix after putting on a flawless performance on the streets of Monte Carlo.Rosberg's victory in the Monaco GP occurred 30 years after his father, Keke, won in the principality. The Rosbergs became the first father-son duo to win Formula One's most prestigious race of the season. Keke is the 1982 F1 world champion.Starting on the pole position, Rosberg dominated the race by leading all 78 laps around this tricky 2.075-mile, 19-turn street circuit. Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull challenged him for the lead during the first few laps after Vettel passed Rosberg's teammate, Lewis Hamilton, for second on the opening lap.Rosberg then held off Vettel after three restarts following accidents that required the deployment of the safety car."The whole weekend went perfectly," said Rosberg, who won qualifying and topped the time charts in all three practice sessions for the Monaco GP.
