Valencia, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Valencia moved back into fourth place in La Liga on Monday after securing a comfortable 4-0 home win over relegation- battling Granada.
First-half goals from Javi Fuego and Daniel Parejo had Los Che in control by halftime, while Sofiane Feghouli and Alvaro Negredo each added goals in the final five minutes to cap the scoring.
The result moves Valencia two points clear of Sevilla with five games remaining, while Granada's relegation fears only deepen as the club remains six points from safety.
Parejo had a hand in the opening goal after 26 minutes when his corner kick was whipped into the penalty area and found the head of Fuego, who turned it into the top right corner of the net.
Parejo set up a good chance for Feghouli a few minutes later that saw the forward's effort skip just wide of the left post.
But Parejo found the net himself from the penalty spot five minutes before halftime after Antonio Barragan was fouled inside the area by Granada's Diego Mainz.
The second half was fairly comfortable for Valencia and the hosts added two more goals in the final five minutes as Granada pushed forward.
Feghouli scored on the break after being set up by Negredo, and the former Manchester City forward then scored himself a few minutes later with a close- range header.
