The Boston Red Sox named Juan Nieves as the club's pitching coach on Wednesday.

Nieves, who spent the last 14 years with the Chicago White Sox organization, was their bullpen coach the past five seasons.

"It became very clear that Juan was not only a talented pitching coach, but one I feel very comfortable with in working with our pitching staff," Red Sox manager John Farrell said.

Chicago's bullpen ERA (3.88) ranked fifth during Nieves' tenure with the squad.
