The Florida Marlins have recalled outfielder A New Orleans and also designated outfielder Dewayne Wise for assignment.

Morrison was sent to the minors in a somewhat controversial move earlier this month. He appeared in six games for the Zephyrs and hit just .167 with a homer and five runs batted in during his brief stint.

There were reports that Morrison's demotion was due to an off-field incident.

Morrison, entering Wednesday's doubleheader against Cincinnati, is batting just .249 with 17 home runs and 60 runs batted in over 95 games for the Marlins this season.

Wise had played 49 games for the Marlins, mostly as a defensive replacement, and was hitting .239 in 67 at-bats with five runs batted in.
