Nice, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Federico Delbonis of Argentina and Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France were winners Sunday on the first day of play at the Nice Open.

The seventh-seeded Delbonis topped Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin, 7-5, 6-3, while the eighth-seeded Roger-Vasselin posted a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Colombia's Alejandro Gonzalez.

American John Isner and Latvia's Ernests Gulbis are the top seeds this week at the final French Open tune-up. Both have first-round byes, as do Frenchmen Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon.

Monfils, this year's third seed, was the runner-up last year. He lost in the final to Spain's Albert Montanes, who will play Australia's Matthew Ebden in the first round.
