Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed safety D.J. Swearinger off waivers from the Houston Texans on Tuesday.

Swearinger, who was waived by the Texans on Monday, was a second-round pick in 2013. The South Carolina product recorded 144 tackles, one sack and three interceptions over two seasons with Houston.

The former Texan will most likely start alongside Chris Conte manning the other safety position.

Tampa Bay also claimed linebacker Khaseem Greene off waivers from the Chicago Bears. Greene played in 25 games with six starts over the past two seasons with the Bears.

In addition, the team signed fourth-round linebacker Kwon Alexander, fifth- round wide receiver Kenny Bell, sixth-round wide receiver Kaelin Clay and seventh-round fullback Joey Iosefa.

The Buccaneers waived safety M.D. Jennings.
