Salma Hayek is still reeling from hearing the news that armed robbers forced their way into a private Paris residence where Kim Kardashian West was staying, tied her up and locked her in a bathroom before taking off with more than $10 million worth of jewelry.

The Oscar-nominated actress, who was in Paris attending fashion week shows like Kardashian West, called the incident “horrific” and that she was shocked when people were asking her about it.

Hayek told the Associated Press that she doesn’t have much jewelry, and incidents like this might make her taken even less.

“I love Paris, but I don't have the jewelry here because I don't live here,” she said. “I know it's terrible, but thank God she's okay. Thank God she's okay. That's the only thing I can say, because it could have been worse. So that's the good news. And thank God her little girl was not here, so I know it's horrific but at least there were some good points."

Kardashian West, who had attended several shows in Paris, left the French capital Monday morning a few hours after the incident and flew to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. From there, she traveled in a motorcade to her apartment building in downtown Manhattan, where there was a heavy security presence.

The thieves entered the 19th-century luxury residence in Paris' chic 8th arrondissement after the concierge let them in around 2:30 a.m. local time, according to police officials. Handcuffed and at gunpoint, the concierge led them to the reality TV star's flat.

The robbers tied up Kardashian West and locked her in the bathroom before escaping on bikes, the officials said. They were not authorized to be publicly named speaking about ongoing investigations.

The officials said the five stole a jewelry box containing valuables worth $6.7 million as well as a ring worth $4.5 million. In a message to the Associated Press, the Paris prosecutor's office said that only two of the five suspects forced their way into the apartment.

Kardashian West's stylist was also in the residence at the time, and alerted police to the robbery, but the bodyguard was not present, according to the prosecutor's office.

The couple's two children, 3-year-old North and 10-month-old son Saint, were not with Kardashian West when the robbery happened. It's unclear if they accompanied her on the trip to France.

Kardashian's husband, Kanye West, abruptly ended his performance at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York on Sunday night.

"I'm sorry, family emergency. I have to stop the show," West told the audience.

After arriving in New York City, Kardashian West's friends reached out to her to offer support.

LaLa Anthony, wife of basketball player Carmelo Anthony, visited Monday afternoon, as did family friends Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck, who are often featured on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

They all arrived separately, and none spoke to the media.

Kris Jenner indicated her daughter was doing OK, giving a "thumbs up" signal when a reporter asked how Kardashian West was.

Jenner, wearing a long black fur coat, did not speak when she left the building. She exited in a black sports utility vehicle.

Kardashian West was ambushed last week by a serial celebrity attacker who attempted to put his face on her backside as she entered a restaurant – he also targeted Kardashian at Paris fashion week in 2014, attempting to touch her legs. She wasn't hurt in either incident. At the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, the same man crawled under America Ferrera's dress.

Paris has been a significant place for Kardashian West and her husband, who spent the weekend there before marrying in Florence in May 2014.
