Miley Cyrus has taken another giant leap away from her child star alter ego, Hannah Montana.

Cyrus, 19, appeared on the interview show The Conversation, where she talked to host Amanda DeCadenet about her sex life.

The star of the recent film flop "LOL," co-starring Demi Moore (who also produces "The Conversation") said it was important parents tell kids how great sex is, as kids will be finding out about it on television anyway.

"It’s the only way we create, and it’s the only way the world keeps going. So it’s ignorant not to talk to your kids about it or [not] make it seem as magical or cool as it actually is,” she said. “[Kids] have a TV, so they know what sex is. So educate them and let them know it’s a beautiful thing, and it is magic, and it’s when you connect with somebody."

Cyrus went on to explain that sex should not be used as currency.

“The girls that really base how much they’re worth on the sexual favors they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad,” she said.

"Your worth isn’t based on [sex]," she added. "Your worth is based on how you feel about yourself.”

On Sunday, Cyrus raised eyebrows when she wore a very revealing jacket to the Billboard Music Awards, sans trousers.

Cyrus is dating 'Hunger Games' star Liam Hemsworth (the brother of the guy who plays Thor in 'The Avengers.')
