NY suspect in parents' death to be evaluated

A man arrested in Israel after his parents were found dead in their New York City home has been ordered to undergo a psychological exam.

Eric Bellucci had been scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on first-degree murder and other charges. The Staten Island district attorney's office said the hearing was postponed until Jan. 20 so he could be evaluated.

Authorities say Bellucci fled to Israel in October. He was arrested at the Tel Aviv airport after trying to buy a plane ticket to Beijing.

Bellucci did not enter a plea at his October court appearance, where he was held without bail. At the time, his attorney asked that Bellucci be placed on suicide watch as a precaution.

Bellucci's attorney did not immediately return a call Wednesday seeking comment.
