LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles police arrested a man Tuesday who they suspect stabbed his 89-year-old grandmother to death.
The arrest came after SWAT officers surrounded the south Los Angeles home where he was hiding after the alleged attack, the Los Angeles Times reported.
KTLA reported that the woman was killed with a broken broom handle. It said the suspect was aged 42.
The woman was stabbed at around 2:00 p.m., a police spokesperson said. She was taken to a local hospital, where she died later.
The suspect was apprehended after 6:00 p.m..
