An earthquake has shaken a rural area of San Diego County but there are no reports of any damages or injuries.

A report from the U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-4.0 quake struck at 10:58 a.m. Wednesday about seven miles northeast of the mountain town of Julian and 45 miles northeast of San Diego.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department and the San Diego city fire and police departments say the quake wasn't widely felt and there are no reports of damage or injuries.
