A pop star from the 1980s and '90s has been named president of an all-boys Catholic school in Honolulu.

Glenn Medeiros will start his new job July 1, the St. Louis School board of trustees announced Wednesday. Medeiros' hit single, "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You," was released in 1987. In 1990, he recorded "She Ain't Worth It" with Bobby Brown.

Medeiros has a bachelor's degree in history and humanities from the University of Hawaii's West Oahu campus, a master's degree in education from University of Phoenix and a doctorate degree in education from the University of Southern California.

The board said it selected Medeiros after an extensive search, Honolulu news station KHON-TV reported (http://bit.ly/1JhkxZ4 ). He's currently vice principal at Maryknoll High School in Honolulu.
