Graziano Pelle tallied a second-half brace, including the winning goal in the final five minutes, to help Feyenoord to a 2-1 home win against Groningen on Sunday.

The win lifts Feyenoord into fourth place, and the club is now just three points adrift of leaders PSV Eindhoven and Twente.

Following a scoreless first half Pelle broke the deadlock in the 58th minute from a corner kick by Jordy Clasie.

Groningen got back on level terms in the 77th minute when Virgil van Dijk pounced on a deflected cross to tally his second goal of the campaign, but Pelle rescued the win in the 87th when he scored from a tight angle to hand his side all three points.

Ajax had its six-match winning streak come to an end on Sunday as the club was held to a 0-0 draw by Utrecht, leaving the Amsterdam side level on 37 points with Feyenoord, while Willem II ends 2012 on the bottom of the Eredivisie despite collecting a 0-0 draw against mid-table RKC Waalwijk.

Sunday's other contest saw Roda come from two goals down in the second half to notch a 4-2 win at Venlo as Mikolaj Lebedynski, Laurent Delorge, Mark Jan Fledderus and Arnaud Sutchuin Djum scored a goal apiece in the span of 13 minutes for Roda.
