North Carolina A&T beats Howard 78-65
WASHINGTON – Thomas Coleman scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead North Carolina A&T over Howard 78-65 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Saturday.
Coleman scored 13 of his 17 in the opening half as the Aggies (8-9, 3-1) shot 50 percent from the floor (13 of 26) and led 40-30 at the break.
Marc Hill had a game-high 20 points and Nic Simpson added 15 for North Carolina A&T, which overcame 15 turnovers to win its third game in the last four contests.
Dadrian Collins hit a jumper less than a minute into the second half to pull the Bison (2-14, 0-4) within six, 40-34, but that was as close as they would get.
The Aggies stretched their lead to 20, 66-46, on a layup by Austin Witter with 6:57 left to play.
Collins finished with 17 points, Kyle Riley added 13 and Anton Dickerson 12 for the Bison, who have lost six straight.
