Braunschweig, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Braunschweig confirmed Friday that manager Torsten Lieberknecht has been given a contract extension until 2017 despite the club's position at the bottom of the Bundesliga table.
"I am delighted by the confidence shown in me," said the 40-year-old who has been at the club since 2008 after finishing his playing career at the Eintracht-Stadion.
Braunschweig has won just four of its 22 Bundesliga matches this term as the club looks to remain in the German top flight for another season.
