Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Indians activated infielder Asdrubal Cabrera off the bereavement list Monday.
Cabrera had been in Venezuela to grieve the death of an immediate family member.
He is hitting .282 with three doubles, two home runs and three runs batted in through eight games this season.
The Indians optioned pitcher Nick Hagadone to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the roster.
Hagadone allowed one run on two hits and a walk in 3 1/3 innings of relief for Cleveland after being recalled on April 17.
