Heerenveen, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Heerenveen cruised to a comfortable victory on Saturday, dominating PSV Eindhoven in a 3-0 home win at the Abe Lenstra Stadion.
The hosts were in front after 30 minutes thanks to Bilal Basacikoglu, but PSV managed to stay within touching distance until the final stages.
Heerenveen finally pulled away from the visitors with 11 minutes to play as Rajiv Van La Parra doubled the club's advantage in the 79th minute before Alfred Finnbogason wrapped up the affair three minutes from time.
It was PSV's second straight defeat and the second consecutive match in which the club conceded three goals.
Heerenveen improves to 48 points on the season, bringing the club to within five points of PSV.
Elsewhere in the Dutch top flight on Saturday, Twente received goals from Felipe Gutierrez and Dusan Tadic in a 2-0 defeat of NAC, Geoffrey Castillion and Mart Dijkstra exchanged first-half goals as nine-man NEC played to a 1-1 draw with 10-man Cambuur and Go Ahead Eagles came from behind to defeat Heracles, 2-1.
