New York, NY – The Dallas Cowboys traded up eight spots to No. 6 overall in the NFL Draft on Thursday and selected LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne.
The Cowboys made a deal with the Rams, giving St. Louis the No. 14 overall pick as well as a second-round selection.
Claiborne was the 2011 Thorpe Award winner, given annually to the top defensive back in college football. He finished his career at LSU with 11 interceptions and ranked first in the country in interception return yardage (173) in 2011.
The Rams now have three second-round picks.
